Email to check portal. Was switching fields in applying, so I'm not surprised.

6 years industry + MS. 6 second author / 1 first author but low undergrad gpa. Sad to see "... Unfortunately ..." from the portal today.

Unofficial email from PI plus a "respond to offer of admission" button within second page of portal.

Ignore status. In my portal, a new button has appeared "Required: Reply to offer of admission". Didn't get any email and acceptance letter. What does it mean?

Unofficial from PI regarding admission. Hopefully we will hear from the institute officially in the near future!

undergrad from TIT- Toronto Institute of Technology. Submitted in Dec. Interviewed in early January. Email from POI, I got admitted. From TITs to MITs Meche department, life is fun.

3.5 years of experience in R&D in defense industry. 2 publications, international student. Message: Thank you for applying to the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT and thank you for your patience during this lengthy admissions process. Unfortunately, we are unable to admit you to our graduate program. This year we received a record number of applicants, but we were only able to admit approximately 1 in 10. As a result, we had to turn away hundreds of highly-qualified applicants. We truly wish you well in your future endeavors.

I wonder how many master students they admit this year? It seems like most of the people who are admitted are Ph.D.

These guys haven't even gone through the whole application, injustice to the students who poured hours of their efforts and money to apply to their program. This admission system sucks...
