Email from the director saying rejection.

To the poster below, did you reach them first? I haven't heard anything from them

To the poster below: Are you explicitly notified as waitlist? I received an email saying that "We know that talented students have many options and realize that you may have already made a decision but did want to contact you." Is your email different?

Did anyone else receive both the rejection email AND the "will keep your application on file" email. Both were sent by the graduate director.

I'm on the same boat with these "mysterious" emails. Could any of you share your profile, at least GRE grades. I'm really curious about it.

If you have better choice, please decline this program as soon as possible, this is my best choice. Thank you!

Does anyone know anything new about Minnesota waitlist?

To the belows: It looks like there are two waitlist groups. one is who received both rejection email & waitlist email, the other is who received only waitlist email. Am I correct? What about the people who didn't receive anything? Thanks.

Few international students spots.

Count me among those who haven't received anything. The way that UNC handles this process seems designed to maximize confusion in all phases.

Got an email saying "We are optimistic that we will be able to offer you admission and financial aid in the PhD program......We’ve been hearing back more slowly than usual from our already-admitted students this year, though, so we are not yet able to commit.......we would very much appreciate it if you would please tell us whether or not you are still interested in receiving an offer. "

I got the same as the guy below. Please turn down offers to places you won't be attending! Austin is my top choice
