Received a text and was accepted via phone call. In terms of experience, I had worked as a head math tutor + TA for my university and worked in summer classrooms as teaching assistant.

1 pub, 2 conferences, 1 REU, 2 yr research experience, no interview. i guess i was not a good fit and also this cycle has been really rough

Good GPA, +2 years of research work, publications + presentations in international conferences, two internships in the domain of the intended PhD. Knew it was a longshot, but still disappointed about not having the opportunity to interview.

Did research work, but no papers published. Heavily involved with leadership in extracurriculars in college. Received outstand senior engineer award. Probably should have started a company or published 2+ papers first author to get in
