Graduate School Admission Results

The faculty in the Creative Writing MFA program, have completed a review of your application for admission to graduate study at the University of Minnesota. We have carefully considered all of your application materials, and unfortunately your admission has not been approved. There were a great many excellent applications, and therefore the final decision was very difficult. I sincerely regret that we are unable to approve your admission, and hope that our decision will not discourage you from pursuing further academic education or professional development. Email from program, portal not yet updated. $20k total funding, so likely have to decline for financial reasons. Older (40), science degrees, several notable publications, and some top workshops under my belt. 2a/0w/2r to end this application cycle.

Received an email saying I’m a finalist for a nonfiction spot at OSU. Still excited even though it’s not an acceptance! my top school by a long shot.

knew this one was coming after seeing the facebook draft spreadsheet notifs. 3 schools left "The MFA admissions committee has finished reviewing applications, and I’m very sorry to inform you that we are not able to offer you a spot at Oregon State University for Fall 2025. The competition is always fierce, and we can never admit as many students as we would like. A second, automated email will arrive in the next day or two from the OSU Graduate School. We wish you all the best and thank you for your interest in our program."
