No email, just checked the portal and received rejection T_T

Email from PI, and receiving official offer after a week!!

Got a personal email with the rejection and later an automatic email informing me of a status update on the application portal. No interview.

3.96 M.S. GPA. Twas a stretch lol.

Interviewed on February 28. I received a call on March 4 from the Program director offering me admission and the official offer letter on March 5. The offer includes a stipend, tuition and fees, dental and health insurance, and an RTD pass (transport). My top choice, where I did a 6-month internship last year! Super excited!

Was not invited to in-person interviews back in early Feb

After careful review, I regret to inform you that the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is unable to take favorable action on your application to the Program in Systems, Synthetic, and Quantitative Biology. The number of promising applicants well exceeded the number of offers of admission we can make for the 2025-2026 academic year. I know that this decision comes as a disappointment. Unfortunately, enrollment of new students is limited to a small fraction of those who are qualified for admission. I want to assure you that your application received full consideration by faculty members in the program to which you applied. We appreciate your interest in the Graduate School and wish you success in your future studies.

This was 2nd round of interviews after the 1st one which was conducted on Feb 17. My PI today emailed me stating that, I should receive the admission letter in one or two weeks.
