Ummm good thing I called before! Official rejection received via email April 18th, just three days after the deadline..

Well, at least there's no possibility of an awkward changing of mind with the already submitted acceptance.

Just got the letter- they didn't respond to several requests to give me a status update. Seems like their quite incompetent and heard their dept is quite disorganized as well.

I asked for my final decision.

Turned down one of three wait list spots.

Gave up waiting and called the department, and received an unofficial rejection. I asked if all accepted or wait-listed candidates had already been notified and he said yes - so if you haven't heard anything back yet, it seems you're waiting on a rejection.
