Admitted to Direct Doctorate

Status in the portal changed from "Direct Doctorate in Computer Science" to "Computer Science MSc."; hoping for the best to get accepted for the Master.

I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a one-year Master's degree in Computer Science (Conversion degree). I have four years of work experience as an SWE. I have no research experience outside of my dissertation and no publications. I have no TA experience.

Very good student from top French university (Ecole polytechnique). None of us got in, even the best. Good LoRs, good motivation letter. No idea what happened.

GRE not required & not submitted. 1-year-long research experience at an EPF Lausanne lab. 1 first-author conference pub & several non-first-author pubs. Probably decent LoRs. Also got admitted to Data Science MSc program. ESOP rejected for both programs.
