received an email from a faculty for an interview on jan 16th.

I received a polite email directly from the professor whose lab I applied to join.

Submitted on the very deadline i.e., Jan 06, just received the email. So happy, this is my first acceptance of the season!

Completed the virtual email. Now offered to go to iPBS graduate recruitment weekend to interview in person!

Reached out to the PI. Was informed interview invites have been sent out. Sad but I believe it was for the best.

One REU, two internships, from a small school, no pubs but a manuscript in preparation Organic

I did not submit GRE scores. I did an REU this last summer. I have written a single-author research paper that has been submitted to a journal. I have been doing research at my school for a while and have taken every math course in pure and applied math that we offer. I want to stress that I do not have any research experience in differential geometry which is what is one of the main things I applied to do.

Email from admissions committee for virtual interview 1/31. To anyone who is disappointed that they did not get an interview, I just want to say that I applied to John Jay last year and I didn’t get an interview, so keep going if it’s what you really want!
