Thank you very much for your application for admission to the doctoral program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan. The qualifications of the applicants this year were simply amazing! All of the challenging academic work and research efforts represented in the applications were very impressive. As a result, there are many candidates for admission that are very promising scholars; yet, we cannot accommodate all who are qualified. I regret to say that you will not be offered admission to the program this year. Over 1,000 students applied, and about twenty will comprise the entering class this fall. A major factor in admissions is the fit of the student to the faculty scholars we have in residence, even though many candidates show the dedication, achievement, and preparation needed to succeed in graduate school. My hope is that you will find a good match with another program, or another route to the bright future ahead of you!

(Ignore Waitlist) Apologies to post this here, but the program thread within Grad Cafe didn't answer, so I thought of maybe asking this here instead. Is anyone still waiting for this program (whether acceptance or rejection)? The only communication I received was back in 4/15 saying that they will post results in few weeks and that app review has been slow due to the pandemic. Since then, I've emailed the school multiple times and have received radio silence. (Also, can the school please stop it with the pandemic excuse? They already issued out initial waves of acceptances, so we know they had some progress with the app pile. Also, the state of MI has been open since June and as of today, they have 182 daily positive cases, which is MUCH better than some other parts of the world.) Many times, the response from schools are generic templates, so I don't understand why it's taking them so long to just copy and paste auto replies.

I applied for the early decision. 3/12 they contacted me and said that they have to delay my decision. 6/11 informed me that they rejected.

Accepted to Data Science track. From the best university in my country. Dean's List * 3. 2-years work experience as a data analyst at one of the Big 4.

Got the rejection after reviewed by 4 months, no comments. Totally waste of my time.
