Graduate School Admission Results

To the UT Austin guy below; UT Austin waitlists you informing you via an email. And usually that happens at the end of March or so. I was waitlisted last year but couldn't get it off the list. The application will say "in review" for a very long time. In May or so, they will tell you that all the decisions have been made. UT Austin gives more than 90% of its acceptances in January. At this point, there is very less hope for a PhD admission.

To the poster below, What do you mean and why have the original posts disappeared/reported spam?

Email from supervisor with full funding

2 Conference papers + 1 paper on review + 3 patents, topper of the class, I expressed my interest in particular for research scholar masters. I guess over qualification must have been the reason for reject!

Presumably excellent recos, 2 excellent academic research internships, 1 paper, open source contributor.

To Colorado State University post below: My research interest is wireless networks (WMN, WSN) and pervasive computing. The professor mailed me stating that they could give PhD admission to only 10 applicants out of which they have offered only 5 TA positions. He also suggested me to look for other funding opportunities. So they have invited me for MS program. I have 2 years of research experience in wireless networks and mobile computing, 6 months of teaching experience and 3.5 years of industrial experience in VLSI and VHDL programming.

Go to better school. It's the reason that EPFL still is EPFL, not better ;)
