Graduate School Admission Results

Does anyone know if they've accepted anybody yet? I had an interview 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

I was waitlisted, and when I sent them an email saying that I had committed to another university I got an impersonal rejection letter. It's a little insulting, to say the least, considering I actually attended their prospective student weekend, thus missing the weekend for the university I ultimately committed to (still went for a campus visit later, so nothing lost really). In any case, I'm satisfied with my decision, but nevertheless as frustrated by this experience as others posting here.

To the posters below accepted at Minnesota University for the MA/PhD in Hispanic Linguistics, I would like to know if any of you declined or plan to decline your offer.

They told me there would be decision at the end of March, but I am still waiting.

Got my unofficial acceptance from grad school. Waiting to hear back from the department regarding a TA.

Haven't heard anything yet. I see offers were already made as early as February though. Looks like a definite rejection! a1/6r with the only acceptance coming from a university that is still searching for means to fund my program. Fingers crossed!

"We regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission for the following reason: The Department of Linguistics has reviewed your file and judged your application to be not competitive with other applicants to the program." How nice!

I haven't heard any notification of the result yet. strange!!

To the poster below, when did you receive the notification?

Received a standard rejection email today. Was surprised, as we had already talked back on December, and I was told that my topic wouldn't quite fit with any of their staff. They asked if I were willing to change my topic, as they might reconsider my application then. I declined, but still received the email today anyway.

I called the department this morning and I was told that they REJECTED me. Well, I was already accepted to some other universities.
