Did not really think I would get in anyways

Checked portal. BSc in Physics and Mathematics (summa cum laude). Completed a very brief post-baccalaureate position in cosmology, focusing on observational and theoretical techniques in early-universe studies, while volunteering as a teaching assistant at the local community college. 5 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including 2 as first author. Over 7 years of research experience across three groups (started in high school), specializing in computational and experimental cosmology. Conducted award-winning senior thesis research on gravitational wave detection methods and presented findings at an American Physical Society (APS) conference. Delivered 7 talks and 6 poster presentations at national and international academic events. 4 years of teaching assistant experience, leading discussion sections, conducting lab courses, and mentoring students in both intro and advanced physics and mathematics. Recipient of 3 awards for accomplishments in research. Second year in a row applying for cosmology, and it's not looking too promising. Good luck all!

BSc & MSc in Chemistry (Computational field, summa cum laude). 8 papers pub in Q1/Q2 journals, 3 as 1st author. 4+ yrs of research experience. 5 talks & 5 poster presentations in academic events. 1.5 yrs TA experience. 7 awards at institutional, national, and international level. Insanely competitive. With 2000+ applicants but only fewer than 50 positions. It’s a scam basically. Never mind, this is MIT, what am I expecting.

Applied for hep-ex. Email to check portal. I can't believe it. I applied last year and didn't get in basically anywhere, but I did a post-bac and omg did it change results. UChicago and now MIT. I'm beyond thrilled.
