Graduate School Admission Results

To those rejected by berkeley, were they interviewed? wonder what they want after international (including american) journalistic and academic experience?

oh well...i'm just waiting for northwestern and columbia!

"an unprecedented number of well-qualified applicants made admission to our program extremely competitive." Uh Huh. I'd like real reasons, please.

Already accpected elsewhere with full tuition waiver and stipend.

Just got a voice mail saying I'd been accepted and giving me contact info for people to get in touch with for more information.

surprised nobody has posted anything about the j-school program. anybody else out there?

i'm from southern california, interviewing with a local alumna next week. for the person who interviewed already, any questions you can remember them asking?

interviewed by admissions committee. what are the chances of getting in?

Berkeley School of Journalism does not require the GRE. Berkeley undergrad. I have been accepted to Boston University and the University of Washington to MPH programs. This was the only dual degree program to which I applied. I have not heard back yet from Berkeley's Public Health School, where I completed research as an undergrad. This required 2 separate applications. My references came from a former editor at a magazine where I was a writer and editor, a radio talk show host who has let me guest host his show several times, and a Berkeley professor.

Denied via email but super surprised because interviewer said he would recommend. also surprised because got into Annenberg for graduate, and Berkeley was a backup. Oh well

Still waiting to hear back from UC Berkeley School of Journalism; haven't had any email/call about an interview/change in admission status. Has anyone else been contacted yet??

Just got a call saying that I was recommended for admission. haven't received the admission letter though.
