Graduate School Admission Results

What a flawed admission process! This was literally my dream school! Average profiles are accepted, and good ones rejected. No idea what they are up to. Well, F*ck them. They are losing out on the people who deserve to actually go here.

I applied for the Winter 2021 session starting from Jan 2021. Most entries here are of the F20 category. Does anybody know when winter admits are sent out? Haven't received any updates apart from a COVID-19 email. Also no clue from statistics of previous years.

May be I was the last admit. Waited long enough. Probably going!!

Gave admits to mediocre profiles and rejects to the better ones thereafter

TTPB: I also didn't receive any communication till now, no response of mails too. It looks like a reject to me. POI also not responding. You got your result on "you.usc.edu"?

TTPB: I got an email saying my portal was updated at around midnight.

Tier-1 Indian university with Electronics background. 3 years work exp in a highly reputed organisation. 1 relevant publication and opted for specialisation in computing systems.

TTPB: Did you get an email or on the portal? I haven't heard back anything from USC and they aren't replying to email either.

After a long wait it finally came today

Got email about status change to "Update pending" on 3rd, it became "Rejected" on the portal today. No new email was sent. GPA: 3.2, GRE: 334, TOEFL: 118, EEE Undergrad

I didn't receive anything and I think if acceptances were sent out, there would have been a good amount of posts here unless they vastly reduced their intake for the next year (unlikely). The previous poster is basing their "guesswork" on previous years which obviously doesn't apply this year due to the corona circumstances and all the shutdowns.

The previous user assumes acceptance letters were sent yesterday. Did anyone receive anything? The wait is extenuating...

TTPB, received an admission email, and the status on MyStatus is also updated now. Area: ML.

It says "Ready for assessment in January Deadline"

They might review my application for the MS in Computer Engineering program instead.

From a top uni in Asia. Abysmal GPA and publication-less research experience...Well, I guess my research mentor was kind enough to write me good reference letters that may have got me in. Super appreciative of the admission!
