[Not WL] I still haven't heard from UCSD. Anybody else in the same boat?

TTPB: I think I was talking about people who had been interviewed and are expecting offers. Anyways, I hope for the best.

Email to check the website just after midnight (PST). GPA is grad, didn't submit GRE scores. 2.5 years of undergrad/grad RA work, extremely strong references, and PhD-level theory coursework. Expected at this point, but I'm very lucky to have two excellent offers from other programs that would have strictly dominated UCSD anyway. Email in the middle of the night, oh my god will they reject me?? My heart is pounding, but wait... I didn't apply to UC San Diego... what??? (the portal was blank)

E-mail to check the application website status. It's a very tough year. At this time I'm very anxious and it seems that I have to go to the industry. Bye economics after working as a RA for three years...

TTPB: I also had to contact the department and was similarly told that if I hadn't been asked to interview, I would most likely not get an offer. Poster below is not trolling, I do think the department or certain staff members may be giving different answers. I got this response over email about three weeks ago.

disregard the waitlist: to mention to the folks who are curious when offers are made, I was emailed on Feb 16th, 2021 that offers would be made final 3 weeks from then - which is this upcoming week. So HOPEFULLY we can expect to hear back sometime this week. I am staying hopeful.

TTPB: I asked the department twice, and I did not get a response like yours. They told me, "We are still working through offers. You should hear by the end of this week." So either you are just trolling or they are saying two (or more) different things. I would say (based on the responses I got from the coordinator), there is still hope left, so don't give up yet.
