I have a masters gpa of 8.38/10 from IIT Madras and B. tech from one of the NIT in India. 1 paper in an international peer reviewed journal of high impact factor(5.9) and a couple more being prepared. Research is strongly aligned with the potential advisor and had an email discussion prior to applying where in he asked to apply and mention his name in SOP. He sent me the interview link for fully funded phd and told me he would like to discuss a few topics (of which he sent me a pdf). |

I received my rejection email 3 days after my interview. I was asked 4 questions. I was asked about which professors I'm interested in doing research with and why, why Penn State, what my goals are for the future and elaborate more on all the research I undertook in my undergraduate degree.
