Masters GPA 3.72. E/E, VG/F, VG/F. First reviewer loved everything about me and my proposal. Second two were impressed with my academic history, but didn't think I involved the community enough in the project (specifically youth).

E/E, E/VG, G/F. Haven't seen anyone else report an F on here... really frustrated at the third reviewer and looking into some sort of appeals process. The third reviewer did not even leave any explanation; he/she simply wrote quotes from my essays. The summary comments were riddled with typos and displayed a fundamental ignorance of my research area (which had been explained in depth in my essays). Luckily I have fully funded offers from MIT and Caltech so its not the end of the world I guess, though I would have liked to win...

Honorable mention. Ratings E/E E/E E/E. I applied as an undergraduate under biochemistry. I guess that the NSF is leaning toward those already in grad school this cycle...

E/VG, E/G, E/F - all reviewers wanted to see more community involvement and diversity outreach. I have one more chance to apply so I know what to work on!

1st time applying, already in 1st year grad school. Weak B.I.--not tied in well with research plan. Trying NDSEG next year.
