Graduate School Admission Results

Was ready to commit to another program, now I have to wait and see how this all shakes out!!

I had resigned myself to another automated rejection before I even opened the email, so this was a very pleasant surprise. One of my top choices, so I really have my fingers crossed!!!!!

Pleasant surprise! Hollins was one of my top choices of program so fingers crossed!

I was accepted to the summer 2022 program by phone and then by email! I'm so happy!

Interview; then call a few days later from program director Joshua Henkin, who was very charming and easygoing.

Nope. It's OK. I have love and support and a shower to cry into.

1/2 hour interview with Josh Henkin on 3/6, acceptance by phone 3/9. Honest, clear, personal touch.

Creative nonfiction. They said they only had 7 spots this year and 300+ applicants.

Acceptance by email on 3/7 with TO(/TA)-ship, phone call from faculty next day.

"I'm writing to notify you that you have been waitlisted for admission with a Teaching Assistantship at the University of New Mexico's MFA Program in Creative Writing. The Fiction admission committee was extremely impressed with your application, and you should feel good about this recognition. UNM's MFA Program is very small and, consequently, extremely competitive, and there's still a good chance that you will be admitted with funding." Said they'd let me know one way or the other by April 15.

Just a note to use the portal. They did have like over 800 submissions and only accepted 5. I figured it was a long shot. I read some work of someone who was accepted, and it was amazing. No regrets and definitely feel like BU made the right choice! I did get into the university of my choice though, so I'm super pleased. (No. Brown was not my first choice. I know it's weird)
