Graduate School Admission Results

Mine turned Update pending today, but no congratulatory message on spire home portal. Looks like a rejection. Brace yourself boys and girls :'(

I am one of the people for whom the update pending thing came up yesterday. I have no luck till now, what about you people? Congrats to the 2 of u who got in!!

Just received the admit. Checked in the morning and the status was "Application Under Review". Never changed to update pending. Submitted GRE 327 (Q-170). No publications. B.Tech in EE from mid tier IIT (8.7 gpa).

I'm the person whose status changed to "Update Pending" this morning (and was expecting Mass rejects). Just checked my Spire home page and saw a congratulatory message with options to confirm acceptance. Good GPA, GRE and publications from Tier-2 college. Good luck to all others waiting on their decisions!

TTPB - Can you share your profile? Just to get an idea of where we are headed.

My status also changed to "Update Pending" this morning. I have a strong feeling it's going to be Mass rejects. :(

TTP(s)B: My status is also update pending since yesterday. Top 20 University in India(Not IIT) , CGPA- 9.18, GRE-327, 3 months internship in 2 companies(2months + 1 month) , many projects and a public speaker. Regarding this being a rejection wave or not, i got no idea but I dont think i'm gonna get an admit this season.

The status has changed to Update pending for me too. Stats are 323 GRE and 7.7 GPA from Tier-2 institute in India. Could others share their stats too! And what do they think if it's a reject wave or not?

I am the girl from the first post above. But yeah, let's hope it's an admit. It can be a technical error because the mail clearly says a formal decision letter will be issued in 1-2 days.

TTP(s)B: Same. Status changed to update pending yesterday. I received an email half an hour back about an update but it still shows Update Pending. Is there any chance it will be an acceptance?

To the guy who posted about recieving a mail from UMass below. Same, I too have been waiting for update pending to change to an admit/reject since yesterday and recieved a mail a few minutes ago

Contacted by a professor not mentioned in my SOP. Received an offer letter after 5 days from the interview. 2 years relevant work experience in the industry, 3 conference publications.

TTPB : I am the poster who said the argument is faulty. I am sorry if that offended you but that was not my intention. I just pointed out the 2 flaws/corrections in your reasoning. I also dont see how you took upon yourself the whole its-the-uni-fault-for-keeping-different -info. I just pointed what uni has presented and did not mean anything personal to you. All I mean is the results should have started rolling out by now if we go by SPIRE or gradcafe posts 2020. And I am just anxiously waiting and being paranoid about it.

TTPB: I'm not the previous replier, just saw the argument so went to check at www.cics.umass.edu/admissions/application-instructions. It says March 15 in the first line under Graduate Admissions Decisions.
