Got an interview with the Admissions Committee. Now waiting for final decisions!

For future applicants: DO NOT use Hawaii as a safe school unless you decide to pay for your PhD studies when you are admitted. Hawaii does not provide fellowships like other universities. It's a total waste of application fee for applying to a program that does not offer financial support. Disaster.

Has anyone heard from Hawaii - Manoa? The department coordinator said in December that the graduate chair would contact all applicants in January... didn't get an interview and haven't heard a peep so I'm not holding my breath.

4.0 MA GPA

From assistant to psyc grad chair: “Applicants are generally notified by mid-February to early March if they have been accepted and/or if the faculty would like to schedule an interview and faculty contact applicants directly.”

Contacted a faculty member at UHM who spoke to someone familiar with the anthropology application decision timeline. The committee said they hope to have everything wrapped up by the end of the month so expect a notice in the next few weeks. Best of luck everyone.

Acceptance phone call from Roy Gal on 1/25. Zoom interview 1/15 during AAS 237. Smaller class accepted with longer waitlist than usual. After my acceptance call, I received an email saying acceptances would be sent the next day.

2 papers. One 1st author on MNRAS and one in progress.

Accepted 23 out of 198, hoping for 8 admitted

Fat reject. They had 198 applicants and only were looking for 8 students, jesus.

I emailed BN in 2020 for info on him accepting students, he told me he was. he then emailed me today and told me he actually isn't accepting students. others might, but he said that the school had VERY little funding this year. hope this helps

Probably rejected; Heard accepts and waitlists come 1/26 by email and haven't heard back since then, even when I replied to that email.

I did not receive the accepted/Wait-list email which they were supposed to send on 26th. Which means rejection :(

Same here. Also interviewed a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything. I'm assuming rejection but of course this is a strange year for grad schools
