4 publications (1 more under review), 2 YOE as a software engineer, 2 long term software internships. Conduct research at a lab at Stanford currently. Strong LORs, good SOP, good grades, no GRE. Devastated to be honest.

Completely Expected, congrats to everyone who got in and is going though!

Expected. But, after a few rejections from some universities, I am feeling very gutted.

MSCS program. 3 internships at 2 companies. 1 first-author paper (best student paper) at top conference. 1 published app with 2m+ downloads. So excited to get into my dream school!

CS Undergrad from top German Uni. No GRE. Toefl 111. Had 3 Internships in top tech companies, one of them FAANG. Very little research experience. Very excited! Is there a group chat for admits?

MSCS. Three internships, NVIDIA + Microsoft + one startup, no research paper, 1 research exp

Rejected from the MS CS program. I have an undergraduate degree in CS from a large state school. I have 2 years of undergraduate research experience. Decent SOP and 3 good LORs from faculty members I worked with. Likely was rejected due to having only one publication as well as not being a great fit with potential advisors. Congratulations to everyone who got in!

MSAII. “We received a very large number of applications this year, which made the admissions decision very difficult. With only 32 spaces open in the entering class, we were forced to reject numerous applicants who were qualified for the program, as the overall applicant pool was very strong. If you applied to other programs at Carnegie Mellon, you will receive a response from each one.”

CS undergrad, top-tier IIT, 9.66 CPI, 2 yrs work experience, 2-3 research projects, some extra-curriculars, no research papers. Mail said there were 2200 applicants :( , was expecting a reject anyway

Undergrad from UCLA, 1 research experience with no pub, one internship at startup

from old IIT EE, no papers, research experience in DL, good SDE interns

non-CS background, 3 yrs relevant work-ex, ambitious Uni so reject was not a big shock.. good luck to all those who got in!! Cheers xD !!

4 NLP Publications. Currently working(4 months Work experience when applied).

Tier-2 Undergrad: GPA - 9.64/10, Rank 3/250+ GRE: 337 TOEFL: 117 Work ex: 12 months Full-time + 6 months internship as an SDE at a startup, 2 months internship at a Tier-1 college Research ex: 1 year in NLP under a professor in my undergrad. But no publications. Also some independent research experience for a few months. Couple of relevant projects. I would rate my SOP as strong. But this reject makes me question that. I presume my LORs were strong as well because both the academic LORs came from Professors who supervised me directly. My 3rd LOR was an industry one which was also strong because of my performance at my company. Applied for a concentration in Systems.
