Notified by email to check status. Saw rejection letter

TTPB: Did you receive your acceptance through mail or did the status changed on the portal?

Has anyone got an offer from Geometric Computing Lab in the second round these days?

Also in the waitlist and no news since February. Wrote two emails but got no response. Got all rejs from other applications. Emory is my last hope on fall 2020. OMG

Department's funding: $20k/first year, $22k/second year

Still waiting for EECS MEng notification. Even if its a rejection, they should have at least informed us. The admits can out 2 weeks ago.

TTPB: Yeah, even my status is "Complete and Submitted. You can still edit any section" Someone told me this changes to simply "Complete and Submitted" once they are reviewing your application, not sure though. So many accepts have been sent out, even to a couple of friends who submitted around the same time as me. Therefore not very hopeful at this point, simply waiting for the rejection notification. Ridiculous considering the obscene application costs for most universities and many don't even reply to emails or even send rejection letters when they have already decided.

Had to email Tom Hurst, got a dismissive one liner: "You were not recommended for admission". Not so much disappointed over the rejection as I am frustrated that I paid an application fee and that was the best I got - no correspondence from UMD's end and I had to reach out to get an update.

Got an email saying studies committee had decided to admit me. Final notice of decision / official letter by the end of April. I did not get into MILA. Should I clear any French test later to pursue Masters in UdeM.

Mailed Tom Hurst, to receive a one-liner reject. Was expected, seeing the wave of rejects they are sending

Applied for PhD knowing I would at least be considered for MS. Wouldn't even have applied had I known the small batch size for MS in CS. Did not get any mail from either program, so mailed Tom Hurst who sent a rather blunt rejection mail.

People applied what is your Submission status in the portal? mine is "Complete and submitted. You can still update any section"

My profile is very good but still a reject.I don't know what they want.

1.5 years research ex in Deep Learning, Statistics, Data Engineering and 8 month full time workex in SWE and Data Science. 2 international papers in DL, 2 in submission, total 5 internships. unhappy with this decision. All the best to everyone who got in! See you on the other side :)
