Graduate School Admission Results

TTPB: Got an email that there is an update to my application. Logged in to the portal to see the decision letter.

TTPB: If you have not gotten admitted by Purdue in the first wave, it is probably a default rejection.

Any news about MSCS decision for the interview on 3/7? Feel like wasting money... Although I have accepted the offer of a top10 program, still want to hear back about my decision status.

TTPB: Which course did you apply for MCS or MSCS? How did you get the notification for the change in status of your application?

Rejected. Found it on Quest (no email notification). Had 77% undergrad and 85% MSc average. My MSc thesis deals quantum information (quantum error correction codes) and I taught myself the entire branch of quantum computing in a few months (which were hectic). Didn't publish any papers (which is the only negative aspect in my opinion). Nonetheless, best of luck to all of you!

I'm waiting to hear from UCI and purdue too. But I'm pretty convinced it's going to be a rejection

Anyone still waiting on UC Irvine, Columbia and Purdue ?

MMath Thesis or cousework : Are all admits out already? Should we expect only rejections now since they said they would let us know before 29th May and it is 19th of May today already

I got the status updated on Quest as 'DENY'. And after a week, I received this email.

Nothing special. No reason given.

Email to check portal. I have talked with the professor beforehand and I was (obviously) waitlisted. Machine Learning -GRE Q:166 V:150 -TOEFL:108/120 -Undergrad: University in small country(not well known) -1 NIPS workshop paper -3 recommendation letters from not very known professors(but all have publications in top venues) 2 of which are from another country and not affiliated with my Uni -grades not that high(and top % in my class) Is there a group for the admitted students?

TOEFL 115. I didn't receive any email; my portal was updated. I wish the best for everyone who got accepted.

They say 'we hope to have more information by the end of next week', but no further notification comes this week.

Finally. Had 1 paper and decent LORs. Got into UBC for their data science program. Final tally: 6/14 seems good. Will either go to Amherst or Waterloo.

TTPB: I think it is only for the PhD admission, not Master.

MMath Coursework. No email about acceptance, but received one that said large classes would happen online in the fall. Checked my status on Quest and found out I was admitted on 5/14.

If they have already short-listed the students, then why they are taking so much time to give rejections.
