Graduate School Admission Results

Received a non-personalized letter. Not surprising as their submission date was so early I hadn't finished my best work yet. And it was a long shot to begin with. Good luck to those who got in!

If anyone's got accepted into Purdue MEM for fall 21 and not interested in going, please reject the offer xD

I was one of the posters asking if they would tell me if I was on the waiting list before Jeff replied. but reading Jeff's explanation closely it sounds like we can assume we are rejected if we havent heard back but they havent sent rejections because some "late" faculty did not do anything yet. I appreciate he came here to reply to us and Jeff even said he does not do admissions. either way it's not okay to post racist garbage here and thankfully that post was deleted

To the comments below; I also don't really like the way that Brown is doing it, but it seems to be a pretty standard thing at a lot of schools. From my non-acceptances this year, less than half were prompt rejections - in my case, UT, UW, Stanford, and (if mid-March is prompt) Cornell. The pool of "undecided" schools was of a similar caliber mix as above, so it's hard to be mad at Brown for applying a common practice. Also, I can appreciate Jeff for explaining the situation for those who were just going off of hunches. Antagonizing him would be like killing the well-intended messenger.

Had an interview a month ago and have only received an email saying: You have met the minimum university admission requirements, and your application is currently being reviewed by your selected academic program.Anyone received any communication from SFSU?

Undergraduate Degree in Physics (8.95), from Greek University. Rejection expected.

Offered Doctoral Research position via email directly from potential PI. I was interview 3 weeks prior. This is in my top two choices and will be a difficult decision.

Accepted after being set on the waitlist due to funding. I really love the potential advisor but I will not be attending. Best of luck to all attending OSU for their PhDs in planetary sciences

American student with a master's degree and bachelor's degree, both 3.9 GPAs. Relevant government related experience and strong letters of recommendation. Competition must have been crazy this year.
