Graduate School Admission Results

I am writing this note as some people could be biased. I am also studying finance in the US (but not UH), and a friend of mine studied at UH. After looking at the post below, I told it to him. He said that he also heard that some students were kicked out, but some of the post below look exaggerated. At least for the last 6 years, much more than 50% of students got offers from academia, and half of them were working on corporate finance; the others on asset pricing.

Received notification that I was waitlisted March 31st. I thought this was odd and the email sounded like they hadn't reviewed all applications and those they had not yet gotten to were waitlisted. I am a prospective MPH/MSW dual student so I emailed them to tell them that and get more information. They emailed back and changed my waitlist to an acceptance and officially got my accept email on Friday the 2nd.

Does anyone know when they started sending emails to waitlisted candidates? I don't know how many students will be accepted from the waiting list. Anyone knows anything from the past data or something? It seems I am ghosted.

Rejected from the Ph.D. program, and admitted to the MS program :(

Was my dream school. Feeling sad but kinda expected :(

Generic email and said they could not provide individual feedback because of a huge number of application.

TPB: I am keeping offers from BC and Indiana. I gave up UW Foster simply because of location preference (I'd like to stay in the mid or east, for personal reasons). I think Foster is a great choice as it has a great group of faculty members, and their placement has been on the rise. Hope this helps!
