Received an email from the CS department on 4/18 stating they were referring me for the MS program instead of PhD but then on 4/20 I received an update in the application portal and an acceptance to the PhD program.

Interviewed beginning of January 2025, attended a recruitment weekend at the beginning of February, never waitlist
