Graduate School Admission Results

Got the implicit rejection email, so I knew this was coming. "Your application for admission to study at Stanford has been reviewed by the Admissions Committee in the Economics Department. I regret to report that we cannot admit you to our graduate program. As you know, the Department gets many more applications from qualified candidates than we can accept given our financial resources and space restrictions. Consequently, each year many strong candidates must be turned down. This year we received close to 900 applications for approximately 23 spaces. Regretfully, we cannot provide individual feedback on applications which were not accepted into our program. I can only assure you that all files were read by multiple members of the admissions committee and decisions were made with care." First domino to fall during applications! Excited to hear back from other schools :D

I got the mass email last night and indeed the rejection letter was posted to my application portal today.

I was so depressed! I got out of the bathtub and put on a black low-cut dress with lace all over it sandly. I put on black high heels with pink metal stuff on the ends and six pairs of skull earrings. I couldn't believe it.

acceptance by email. did not receive IR yesterday. my email reads "Congratulations on being admitted to the Ph.D. program in Economics at Stanford University! I am pleased to send you the attached offer of admission letter. "

Received email with acceptance letter attached. This was my first email from Stanford - didn't receive the email people were talking about yesterday.

I also got this email...thinking that it's a rejection, but that's ok. A way to christen the admissions season.

Anyone receive offer or rejection e-mail now?

Got the same email that others are describing as the "implicit rejection". Will update tomorrow with actual results. Good luck to everyone!

TPB: Yes, it is strange. But I got the email too. Hope they have changed their routine this year and it is not an implicit rejection :(

Weird for Stanford to release the email before a chain of acceptance like every other year. Did anyone else received it?

Waitlisted, was notified last night that I would not be getting an offer. If you were WL and haven't heard from Stanford yet, you might have a good shot.
