ML theory. Rejected with no interviews while admitted to UW and CMU.. Really disappointed because I thought Harvard fitted me the most..

One strong LoR and two decent ones, one first-author publication, roughly in the top 5% in my previous program. Received email about status update and saw the result in the online portal. This was a reach school for me so the result was expected. Congratulations to everyone who got in!

2 finance-related internships, no research, LORs from professional contacts, no academic LORs

E-Mail to check portal. Admissions were sent first, wait-lists second, and this is the first wave of rejections. Didn’t interview, didn’t reach out to professors, didn’t submit any GREs, IELTS was waived.

Not surprised, but would've been cool since I met with some faculty about potential projects before applying.
