[Not Interview] TPB: I wonder how someone with such little sense of optimization got through Economics PhD at Cornell, Columbia and (prospectively) Duke in the first place

TPB: Just jumping into the convo, but you sound like an asshole. Why not do the introspection, figure out what you'll pick if you don't get Duke, and decline the dominated offers? It's not like you need to wait to figure this out.

(Not WL) TPB: Isn't it a bit hypocritical to ask others to decline offers if you are holding more than one offer? Practice what you preach!

TBP: just curious, why you are holding offers from several Universities while waiting for waitlist decision from Duke? You would probably get off the waitlist if you will decline one or more of the offers you have, letting someone take this spot, and possibly free the spot in Duke for you.

Please, anyone holding onto Duke please decline if you're not going. I'm holding offers from Cornell, Columbia, and a few others I'd like to drop if I got off waitlist at Duke!

Accepted with 50% tuition waiver (I emailed the MA director in the admit letter). Hope this helps for others who asked before and good luck!

[NOT WL]: I was accepted and emailed the graduate program about funding. They said that they are putting together formal letters of admission now, which will contain details about funding.

What is the initial deadline for admitted students to accept the position? Has anyone got admitted from the waitlist yet?

Anyone knows the tuition waver information? Only notify the admission.

TPB: No clue. Mine didn't say anything either. My best guess is that they won't be giving much out, if any.

Does anyone know how funding for MA Economics works at Duke? The acceptance letter didn't mention anything.
