Nice email from department chair w/ acceptance & offer of 30k merit scholarship. Will likely decline offer given my better offers & allow scholarship to be redistributed to others.

3.85 UD GPA. Economics BA from a T50 program. Math through Real Analysis (A). Two years at the Fed.

I am writing to let you know that the Department of Economics Ph.D. Admissions Committee has reviewed your application for admission. Ms. Mirtha Cabello, Ph.D. Program Administrator, has informed the Economics Master's Program that they are unfortunately unable to recommend you be admitted to their program. Please contact her directly if you have any questions at cabello@bu.edu . Per the Ph.D. program policy, some students with high academic qualifications who were not considered for admission are automatically considered for a master's degree, and many have accepted our offer and end up coming to Boston University.

Tough cycle. First offer after 6r and 2ir.

Received offers from JHU and BU in February and waitlisted from NYU late February. Just received offer off waitlist from NYU today after they asked if I was interested in attending last week. So excited and already accepted! Declined BU today accordingly, already declined JHU few weeks ago. Best of luck to everyone. End of cycle for me.
