To the person that got into the Masters of Information program, congrats! What was your GPA? Did you have previous experience? When did you apply?

TTPB: I was the student who posted earlier that I got accepted into the masters program. My research field is robotics, I had one interview with a professor. I am pretty sure they send out decisions in batches so don't lose hope yet! Good luck to the other applicants!

Received an email from PI offering admission.

Prof reached out in January, finally got the official offer.

CMT. Received an email with a link to check the website.

Received formal offer with funding details today - full tuition plus stipend. The letter said I had two weeks to decide but I have accepted the offer. IR track. Feeling very grateful!

I was the earlier poster in I/S for soc sci and sci. I submitted my application (and all the documents) in early November. I’m applying straight out of undergrad with a cGPA of 3.3x and last 2 years GPA of 3.5x. I had around 800 hours of teaching experience in the age group I’m applying for.

To the poster below: Yes, I received an informal email offer of admission earlier this week on Monday. My post today is my first on here though.

Days later and I am still shocked by how rude this rejection "letter" was. The letter was very clearly copied-and-pasted, stating that they only admit "highly qualified" applicants. The only area of my application that might not have been "highly qualified" is my publications—I only have one publication (plus one pending). Still, this "reason" does not feel like the real reason my application was rejected and I wish they wouldn't have given ever rejected applicant such a sh*tty blanket reason. I had already been accepted to my top choice, so this rejection wasn't a huge loss. However, this culture of treating grad applicants/students so terribly has to come to an end at U of T eventually... right?! They have such a bad reputation amongst grad students—I really hope this changes as the school has a good reputation (in general) and the name still carries some weight.
