I'm sad now.

Sad, had high hopes of getting in with good SOP and relevant projects

Both POI and departmental email. No interview. Area: NLP & ML. 3 top conf. papers, 2 as first authors. Top 5 Master's.

Got a mail to check the Portal.

Received email to check status at 5PM EST on 28 March. ~90 minutes to go. To the poster below, I've seen people from previous years with similar posts. I hope this is an admit.

Computer Science undergrad from RECT(NITT). Mass cheating, robbed off my scores leading to sub par GPA. GRE(164q, 150v, 3.5a) TOEFL(103). 25 years experience as software engineer. Six rejects and no admits with just one remaining.

guess I'm going to the University of Utah!

I applied to three universities in March. (late, I know) This is the first one to reply. I had expected something from all three before April 15. They say the deadline is in July.

To the poster below, you applied for PhD in ML through the college of computing right? Seems the same for ECE people. I don't seem to have received any such email.

So it's end of day now; did anyone receive status email?

To the poster below: I didn't receive any email/status update in the portal. Looks like the batch of admits went out on 1/31. Don't know whats taking them so long to send out the rejection.

To the poster below (I'm the one that got the "your decision will be available after the end of the business day today" email). I didn't get any update on my portal today - despite being EOD. I'll call tomorrow to inquire (what a stressful day tho today) Btw, I applied through the ECE.
