Graduate School Admission Results

I sent emails to some of the faculty members whose research I was interested in yesterday to know about the status of my application. And then today I received the rejection letter from EECS Chair. I don't understand why they didn't send the rejection email earlier. Sad life :(

Received at 11:34 AM EST. Fairly standard rejection email

Still "Under Review". MS/PhD applicant

i am the waitlisted person. yes, it was an official email, and no, I did not reach out to inquire first.

ttpb did you get an official waitlist email?

ttpb who mentions the waitlist email, was the email received from the chairperson an official waitlist email or a reply to a status update that you sent first?

lol ttpb who claimed quite vehemently back in late feb that "no if you haven't received acceptance or waitlist by now, you're rejected" hope you're not this much of a debbie downer with everything and to everyone :)

Are other people still waiting on decisions from MIT? I'm waiting on them and on CMU.

copypaste email from EECS admission chair saying I've been waitlisted along with ~50 others across EECS subareas. EECS apply portal is still blank.

I reached my POI today and was told that the admissions this year were closed. It's sad but reasonable. I am not sure how many people are still waiting but good luck.

CS + Math double, 3.90 GPA, 2 unpublished papers

Has anyone received word from MIT EECS PhD? MIT's not reading any of my emails and their website said the results will be posted on the application portal by late Feb but nothing.

TTBP: Fortunately this forum has a clearly marked method of notification that labels the March 1st rejects as E-mail notifications

March 1st rejections and waitlists: did you guy guys get an email? how were you notified?

Selected Interview because there is no "Other" option. I want to add one more line to the question asked by the previous poster. The portal states: "You can log into this website in early March to see our admissions decision." Does that mean all decisions are still not out? Or we should expect only rejections as status updates here?
