Accepting admission elsewhere anyway

I am the previous poster who presumed rejection and thus called the department. It seems as though the nice lady was mistaken, as I got an email/call from POI Saturday morn offering admission for one of his two slots. Torn now between two great offers. But inclined toward this small, but stellar department because of my distinct research interests.

Was tired of waiting on the rejection letter, thus called the nice lady who coordinates. Her words: letters to go out later this month, and I can tell you you're not on the short list. Duh!

Form letter. I know that many of my supplemental materials did not arrive on time, not sure how much of a difference it makes.

okay, noticing the precedent on the cafe i decided to call rather than wait on my rejection letter...later today, however, it was in the snail mail. O for 3 this year...may be back next one. humbling proces...

Nevermind on that waitlist thing. :(
