According to official statistics, the probability of receiving an offer from duke philosophy department for males is one-eighth that for females.

Has anyone heard anything from Duke? We're 3 months past the app deadline and I haven't seen anyone say they were accepted or waitlisted.

Has anyone heard back from Duke after interviews? I feel like today is the day. Can't imagine they'd need much more time

I figured I'd put this here for future candidates: Interviewed at Duke today. My interview, at least, was essentially SoP in interview form: Why are you pursuing PhD? What topics interest you? Why are you applying to Duke? Writing sample questions (including some questions probing criticism) Here's hoping I didn't make a fool of myself! I got the sense that this is a final cut type of interview rather than a vetting of candidates they hoped to accept. But I may be wrong. Posting to give insight because these interviews are relatively new and it's good to have the information out there.

Congrats to those admitted, and I urge you to fight the union-busting tactics of Duke's admin while you're there.

Ignore status. Anyone has any idea what's going on at Duke? They've sent out acceptances almost a month ago but so far no rejections (it seems)?
