Graduate School Admission Results

WTF!!!!! April 6th passed and they don't even bother themselves to tell us why no decisions had made!!!! This is for summer applications

To the poster below, oh.... I think then I might be rejected because I applied in Jan. 11th....... Do you think that I still have chance to get accepted? I am permanent resident, not a pure International student.

Does any hear about DATA SCIENCE OFFERS?

Sounds like there are a bunch of us still waiting to hear back. Does anyone know if that rejection posted earlier today is legit or a troll?

Q 162 V 138 AW 2.5 my English skill is very poor, so no excuse. i studied in University of Tokyo. 1,2 years Liberal arts course: Awful. I didn't study at all. Instead of studying, I did martial arts and got first prize in all Japan competition. GPA in Liberal arts is 2.67. 3, 4 years engineering course: my specialization was complex theory. But I learned programming and machine learning in my faculty. Graduation thesis was about game theory with machine learning agents. Best grade(GPA = 3.81) in my faculty. No publication at the time. Nothing in related field. Firstly, I should improve my English more. Secondly, I should experience in related field and more conference. Thirdly, should get some awards if it's possible.

Summer applicant. CS undergrad. PhD candidate of Economics in a top US program.

Received an email at around 9 pm eastern that application remains under review. The decision will sent out by Thursday, April 12th. But, nothing happened yet.

Talked with the office of admission. For CSD, those who have not heard have been rejected. They are sending out rejection letters. Waitlisted candidates have also been notified. There have been more than 1100 applicants to CSD CMU. For ML (mailed Diane Lane), only the acceptances have been sent out. The rejection emails have not been sent out. CMU chapter is closed for those who have not yet heard. Move on!!!

Response from Lee: Due to an overwhelming number of applications to the program for the September 2017 intake (over 500 applications for the 50 available positions), the Admissions Committee is presently continuing their applications reviews and hope to have all final official results sent by email in the next few weeks, after all applications have been duly and fairly reviewed. We apologize for this slight delay and we thank you very kindly for your patience and understanding.

Applied 12/14, Email to check portal, Given until 4/6 to decide. So surprised, honestly over the moon.

I got accepted. Waiting for a mail anytime soon saying "Sorry we accidentally sent you the acceptance mail". Damn you CMU, now I have to tell everyone that I got rejected!! Embarrassment level 999.

Worst and most unprofessional admissions process ever. Now they tell me that they will give me admission to another program and that too only after I send my financial docs, after the longest delay. Request future students to not waste time applying to this school!
