The UC Berkeley campus has a strict enrollment ceiling, and we are thus very limited in the number of new students we may admit each year. The admissions committee in the program you applied to had the difficult task of selecting students with the strongest overall records from a large pool of well-qualified applicants. Unfortunately, this may result in not being able to accept many applicants who are capable or have the potential for excellent academic work. No email - saw results on gradcafe for the last few days so I kept checking

Not surprised at the rejection. They are unable to provide more information on their decision.

No email, just randomly checked the portal. I knew my chance was minimal since there are only 0-2 spots for international students each year, but it still hurts. Berkeley is really my dream school. Time to move on. 5a/3r/5p

Had an interview the day before receiving the rejection letter.

E-mailed about setting up an interview.

No GRE. $58000 Dean's Merit Scholarship, which I understand as 50% tuition
