Email that there was an update to my application status and logged in to find the decision letter with rejection

If you were accepted and are committing to a different program, please email back to say you are no longer interested! This is my top choice

I decided not to apply after creating account for the application portal so I didn't send the required documents and left the application incomplete. Since I had already paid the application fee, I spoke to admissions in January after the deadline to let them know. This morning I received notice of rejection even though no app was submitted

Applied to NW's PhD program but did not get in. Was considered for their MA program and interviewed. Received email 4/5 with offer letter.

Canadian applicant, no interview.
