Received interview that went well, silence from POI afterwards. Just got rejection today 0a/2r/7w

I had an unofficial interview with PoI in SOP on 1/7 and received admission on 2/6 with full funding & small scholarship (no additional interaction from 1/7-2/6). CompArch/Systems with 1 A* 2nd author pub and 1 A* 1st author submission (under review) and very close research interests with PoI (got to know him because we had papers presented at the same session during the conference).

Accepted almost 3 weeks after interview, funding letter to come!

~10th ranked CS undergraduate institution. One publication in different subfield and one second-author preprint in same subfield as application. Did not take GRE.

Because of the limited space available, admissions decisions were particularly difficult this year. We regret to inform you that you were not among those admitted to the Mass Communications graduate program. “

Received standard email, no interview before rejection. Applied in October.

McNair Scholar. This was the only one I thought I had a real shot at. Oh well. No GRE, 0a/3r/7p.

Just received an email saying that the department has recommended me for admission, asking for transcripts.
