cold application, no email, portal update. POI had a PhD graduated last year in my specific field, so I thought she might be interested in the topic again, now I think maybe that had a negative effect. Applied from undergrad.

Wanted badly to get into the #1 ranked program in the country. Unfortunately not to be. I'll try again next year.

Different time zone, woke up at night to see an email with a rejection. Wish it was posted on the website, to check in my own time. Also fell in my ads folder too, for some reason. So keep checking those.
