I got an email from the Director of Graduate Studies letting me know I am on the "(very short) waitlist for admission". They mentioned "We are, however, extremely restricted in funding for international students (for whom the department has to cover the non-resident tuition) this year. We therefore had to put you in the waitlist. As we learn more about the admitted students' decisions, we will know whether we have sufficient budget to admit an additional international student." and they said "I can assure you that for international students, even making it to the waitlist is extremely difficult. I also think it is likely we will go to the waitlist at some point." This is exciting for me and I was really flattered! 3a/1w/3 interviews pending results/15 programs.

Have an interview today Noticed to be interviewed few days ago.

Ignore waitlist. Does anyone have an estimate for when we should start hearing back? Has anyone heard anything yet?
