I (accepted) had an interview, but also had extenuating circumstances in my application (leave of absence, poor grades for a couple of semesters, etc.), so most of the talk was about that. I believe it depends on the professor(s) that wants to sponsor your acceptance, so it's possible to have an acceptance w/o interview

Ttpb: Did you guys also have interviews? If one has not had interview for ubc does it mean that is surely a reject?

Most Canadian schools are taking really long, unfortunately :( I would accept your current offer and decline it later in case UBC sends you something more interesting. It sucks but in light of the situation that we're in right now it's understandable.

TTPB: Thank you for your information! I have another offer which need to be decided at the end of this week, and I am pretty doubt that UBC will release their decision by then. I emailed them, but they just sent general response which is unhelpful. Very tired of waiting. Good luck to all who are still waiting!

TTPB: They have already released some admissions back in late March/early April. The deadline for accepting/declining was April 15th, so I believe a second batch will be released sometime soon.

Any idea when will they release the decision? I applied in Dec19, and it's almost 6 months. Anyone has contacted them for updates? Or is there anyone still wait for UBC?

To the poster below- I thought the same regarding deadlines but I emailed today and they said that there is now a flexible deadline given COVID-19. I asked them what the new deadline is but no date was given...

Was the poster below who was waitlisted and told I would hear by April 15. Waited until the 17th, heard nothing, so emailed admin and was told they're still deciding and will try to send me a decision soon.

Had to email them asking a status update, got a reply stating that I have been rejected.

Likewise: has anyone heard anything about UBC's waitlist?

I applied in the first week of Dec and still waiting to hear back from the department. Is anyone else still waiting or has any information as to why isn't the grad office replying to any of my mails!?
