Received an email that basically says that I'm accepted IF: - I'm okay with receiving no funding - I switch to a new advisor who has projects "in mind for me" that are in a different area than I'd like to study Even if an official acceptance does come, I doubt I can afford to move from the east coast of the USA to Hawaii with NOTHING supporting me financially. $1200/credit PLUS living expenses on no income?

Had been in regular contact with the Graduate Adviser after submitting my application and was hopeful of getting accepted. The low GPA has done me in. Contemplating between Syracuse and UT Arlington. Suggestions welcome.

I declined my admission and fellowship offer today. Good luck to all those who are waitlisted. I was admitted on 27th Feb. The deadline for accepting/declining the offer is 15th April.

To the person who asked for my TOEFL score (or at least I thought you asked me). I received my degree from an American institution so I didn't need to submit a TOEFL. The offer is without funding so I have no money :D.

2 undergrad publications (1 is first author), 3 strong letters, National Lab Internship, 2 years of undergrad research, numerous research presentations at conferences (3 of which resulted in awards). You can make it with a low GPA! Full departmental fellowship

5 years of research experience in WHO reference lab, 5 pubs, 3 first, 2 middle, 4 in preparation. out of the blue phone interview, she was not on my list but she picked my application from the pile and who knows how and why. she asked whether i would like to join lab rotation or just stick with hers.
