Do you know anyone who got hep-th acceptance this year from Stanford? Looks like they took very less (if at all!) this time.

hep-ex, no GRE, 4 years research experience, no publications.

Theoretical cosmology. No GRE. 1 paper in preprint, submitted to journal. Total 2.5 years of research in 2 fields (experimental particle and in theoretical cosmology. No interview.

Hep-ex/neutrinos. No GRE. No papers. Total 1 year full-time research in 3 fields. Strong letters of rec including one from top institution. No interview.

hep-th, master's degree from top university in europe with high gpa, no gre, ongoing publication, 2 research projects (3 months + 4 months), very good letters of rec, very good match with faculty... :(
