Email to check site. Speech/Ling double major, research exp, conference exp, volunteer work, leadership exp, & multilingual. They only accept ~120 of 600 (20%). Most schools don't accept ~80%, even if you're a GREAT candidate. If you know this is what you want to do, don't give up! I applied to TC last yr & was rejected. I polished my SOP, got feedback, edited for months, built up my resume & exp more, and got strong LORs. Your grades & exp aren't the ONLY factors. They look at what you can contribute to the program & field. 100s have the same (or better) exp/grades, WHY YOU? N.E. US is most competitive, consider farther states too. That being said, TC may be #35 nationally but it's tied for #2 in NY. Is it worth the cost? Imo, YES. I already live in NYC. Ivy league, modern clinic & tech, research labs, int'l exp, TSSLD & Bil. Cert. w/ NY DOE, faculty's exp. & knowledge, & externships at +200 med centers & schools in NYC. TIP: Apply for external scholarships too. |
