Got rejected while I have a number of relevant publications and reach experience. I have information by some of my friends and seems like admission committee looks only at the name of university where you studied.

BSc in Materials Science and Engineering at EPFL, two strong LORs. Just got an email telling me I was also awarded the excellence fellowship. Good luck to you all!

Romanian student from University Politehnica, Timisoara. 9.36/10 ( romanian system ) . One year research assistant ( 2 subjects). One year and 7 months as a Machine Learning Researcher ( industry) . Several coding competitions and workshops. No publications. Good reference letters ( one from a former PhD student, actual professor at my uni )

Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering from Italy with average grade 29.8/30. Excellence fellowship not awarded.

double major (in math) from a good university in turkey. 2 years of undergraduate research experience and one second author preprint

University of Lisbon. Bachelor's in Computer Science (IST). Final grade of bachelors: 17/20. Exchange student at EPFL for 1 year with average 5/6 in the Spring semester. No research experience. One year work experience (not in a big company). I also worked with an EPFL lab during the exchange.

GPA 92% 22 y.o. Bachelor's degree in computer engineering with 2 years of work experience as developer and software engineer also for international companies such as STELLANTIS and SAMSUNG.
