Physics Graduate School Admission Results

To the poster below, call them and ask them when their Open House is, not if they already released first round admits. If they say a date that has already passed, you can ignore their generic answers. I called Columbia before and they replied with generic answers ("decisions have yet to be made"), even though I have classmates that were accepted by Columbia a while back.

To the poster below: I didn't receive status notification. I reached out to the specific PIs I was interested in working under and they let me know I was not given a spot personally.

Any news from TAMU, Kentucky and Arizona State University? TAMU and Kentukcy have sent a few acceptances this year but there are no updates on my profile and they are not replying to my emails. Arizona State hasn't yet sent letters of acceptance apart from one post here. It will be helpful if someone can inform me about these universities when are going to update.

Has anyone heard anything from UConn?

To the poster below: I called the department on Monday, and they said that admissions decisions will continue to be made until the end of April. I also spoke in person to a prof a few weeks ago, who said they hadn't looked at applications yet. There's still hope!

BS Chem, Phys/Math minors. 4 yrs research; 2 national conference poster presentations, 1 local conference poster presentation; 5 years TA; 2 years student club president

I got a personal rejection mail after an inquiry which I did with the department of physics there

(10,400 is the number of applicants to the Yale graduate school.) Don't get a direct rejection from physics department but from grad school

Just got my offer without any notification for an interview! Showed interest in condensed matter experiment and nuclear experiment. I only have one year of research in condensed matter, but I got a good rec letter from my PI, and performed well with a 3.91/4 gpa. Test scores were good but not amazing (I posted them here too).

Stauts on applyyourself changes from "under departmental review" to "under graduate school review". Any thought?

After rejection from Caltech, Chicago, Princeton, Stanford, and Harvard, this felt like a sigh of relief. It was and still is my last choice school but until I hear back from the other UCs it's good enough. Hep-th.
