Email to check status. HEP Th/HEP Ph. Generic Rejection Letter. Very late update considering they had application deadline on 18th December. Quite expected seeing the competition this year.

Ignore WL. If you haven't been rejected by NYU, are we on some waitlist? I'm wondering if NYU is accepting/rejecting by subfield

Ignore WL. Was my application and profile so bad that they didn't even bother to send me a rejection mail? No mail or update on portal yet, was told by PI last week that 1st round offers have been sent, you may've a chance if someone rejects but can only know that in April.

Gosh darn it :(

Major GPA: 3.79. Generic Rejection. 4th straight now

Universityhep-th/qit, undergrad and masters gpa: 4.0, 2 years research experience, no pubs 0a/13r/0w/4p_____ 13 rejections in a row. I asked them for an application update earlier today and this is what I get.

ignore waitlist, has anyone received an official rejection from NYU, saw one waitlist on GC. If no one has received a rejection mail yet, then it surely is a rejection since they're notifying waitlisted too

Actually waitlisted. “The department regards you as an outstanding potential candidate for admission and we have placed you on our wait list for admission. However, since we have only a limited number of full-funding offers that we may make, we are not yet able to make a final decision on your application. We hope to get a better sense of the resources available to us, and thus be able to determine whether we might be able to offer you admission with funding, by April 15.”

Ignore waitlist. Does anyone know if NYU is still making offers? Saw a couple of early acceptances and around this time is when a good portion of decisions should be out

Astrostats + observation. ~1.5 years research experience, 2 first author pubs in ApJ, a few talks/posters, strong LORs, strong statement, no big awards, no GRE, no teaching experience. Emailed potential advisors in October + November but was ignored. No interview. Honestly a little surprised because my physics background is relatively weak. 4/0/5 accept/reject/waiting. Virtual visit March 31 - April 1.

Finally! All results in now. Was not a good match - so makes sense.
