No GRE. 2 publications. Had interview with faculty.

Got rejection with a generic e-mail. I'm from Koc University. Had two first author(Q1), and two second author article submissions. Presented my recent research at the APS DFD which is the biggest event in my field. Two of my references were strong. Have 2.5 years research experience at the same lab, and three months at MPI for Intelligence Systems. Get reponse from two profs for my mails but no interview.

Offered an RA position after getting an interview by a professor in March

Got a TAship

I was initially told in March that I would be considered for admission if I were to receive an RA offer from a faculty. In April, they sent an acceptance email (with funding) even though I could not establish any contact with a professor. This funding would have been given as a TAship or an RAship, employed by the MechSE department

Was notified by the graduate school I was offered admission on January. Had to contact professors with whom my research interests align and got a GRA offer consequently in April.

I had an interview after submitting my application. It turns out I am not the one that the advisor was looking for.
