Mechanical Engineering Graduate School Admission Results

I was initially told in March that I would be considered for admission if I were to receive an RA offer from a faculty. In April, they sent an acceptance email (with funding) even though I could not establish any contact with a professor. This funding would have been given as a TAship or an RAship, employed by the MechSE department

Was notified by the graduate school I was offered admission on January. Had to contact professors with whom my research interests align and got a GRA offer consequently in April.

I had an interview after submitting my application. It turns out I am not the one that the advisor was looking for.

If any one has an offer from this university who isn't planning to enroll, please decline it soon as it's my top choice and I'm really willing to go there.

If you are planning not to attend HKU, please inform HKU. HKU is my top choice, and I am very willing to go here.

Patents, publications, conferences, projects

Received acceptance email from PI. Waiting for official offer from the department.

Interviewed in late January, 3 conference publications, and I already have offers from other universities.

Interviewed in January and the professor already told me that he wouldn't have any openings this year weeks ago, it was expected. If you did not graduate from the USA or best universities, people are not so interested in investing in you and expect you to have your own funding for the first year, particularly for the top universities. I already have a good offer and accepted it. To whoever reading this: rejection is not all about you but the system, funding, and openings. Never let any rejection define you! We are living in a world where drop-outs rule. It's all about shaping your own ideas and making them true.
